Most of the anxiety in selling a house comes from not knowing what happens next. This walkthrough lays out the entire process in order, with the part you handle, the part we handle, and how long each step realistically takes. There are six steps and none of them require you to prepare the home, hold a showing or spend money.

A single call, usually 20–30 minutes
    5. 5

      Sign and open title

      What you do
Sign the purchase agreement electronically and provide ID and payoff information.
      What we do
Open escrow with a licensed local title company and order the title search.

      Same day you sign
    6. 6

      Close and get paid

      What you do
Sign closing documents — remotely with a mobile notary if you prefer — and hand over the keys.
      What we do
Fund the purchase, pay off your mortgage and liens, and cover the closing costs.
      How long
As fast as 7 days, or any date you choose up to 90

What you never have to do

    • Clean, stage, paint or repair anything. We buy the house exactly as it stands.
    • Hold an open house or let strangers walk through on short notice.
    • Pay a commission, a closing cost or a SilverCrest fee.
    • Wait for a bank to approve someone else's loan.
    • Be physically present at closing — remote and mobile notary closings are standard.

What can slow a closing down

We would rather tell you this in advance than surprise you. The most common delays are title-related: an old lien that was paid but never released, a deceased co-owner still on the deed, unpaid property taxes, an unrecorded transfer, or probate that has not yet issued letters of testamentary. None of these stop a sale, but each takes time to clear. If you know about one, tell us at step one and we can start clearing it before it becomes the reason closing slips.

    Video walkthrough (coming soon)

A filmed walkthrough of these six steps — with a Seller Success Manager narrating a real closing — is in production and will appear here.

Until then, if you would rather have someone talk you through the process live, a Seller Success Manager will do exactly that on a call, with no obligation attached to it.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does the whole process take?

From requesting an offer to funds in your account is commonly 10 to 21 days. The offer itself arrives within 72 hours, and the rest of the timeline is mostly title work plus the closing date you choose.

Do I have to be at the closing in person?

No. Most sellers close remotely with a mobile notary or a remote online notarization, which is useful if you are out of state or already moved.

When exactly do I get the money?

Funds are wired the day the deed records, which is usually the same day or the next business day after you sign. Your title company will confirm the timing in writing.

Can I change the closing date after I accept?

Usually yes. Tell us as early as you can and we will move it if the title work allows. Closing dates are one of the easiest terms to adjust.
